When I raise my eyebrows, I get deep horizontal wrinkles on my forehead. They are still there when I am relaxed but somewhat noticeable. Can Botox be used to smooth these wrinkles even when my forehead muscles are relaxed or are these creases permanent? I am 48 years old.
Yes, Botox and it’s competitor Dysport are excellent for smoothing out forehead wrinkles. They still help the forehead creases even when the muscles are relaxed because even relaxed muscles have resting tone. By using these injecibles, the resting tone of the muscles can be taken care of thereby decreasing the wrinkles. If the creases are very, very deep, they may not completely disappear but they will be much better.
I am 74 years old, male and in excellent health. I have used Botox for years to ease my crow’s feet and forehead wrinkles. These injections work just wonderfully but I desire a permanent solution now. My hair is receding; will the browlift leave a noticeable scar due to my receding hairline?
In men with a receding hairline, I do what is called a midforeheadbrowlift so that the scars are hidden in the natural horizontal creases of the forehead. I have seen excellent results with this procedure. You can see an example of this procedure on my website in the browlift before and after section.
I have a very small chin. It doesn’t project out as far as it should. If I had chin augmentation, would it basically just alter my profile, or will it also change my appearance from a frontal view? Do you have any software that will allow me to visualize my face with differently shaped chins before I undergo the surgery?
Chin implants do alter the front and side views of a face, but the major change is in the side view. Yes, I have computer imaging which can give you an idea of what the implant will look like in you. I can show you what different size implants will look like. A chin implant can be a powerful tool in improving the facial profile and making the chin be in harmony with the rest of the face.
I have a jagged scar running across my face that I would like repaired. My business is a bit more respectable now and I would like to look the part. How is scar revision accomplished? Is this a long, drawn out process?
There are many techniques for scar revision, but typically, it involves surgically removing the scar and closing the resulting defect in a way to minimize and hide the scarring. It is not typically a long drawn out procedure, but full healing does take time. Camouflage make up can be worn during the healing process.
I would like upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. I have very sparse eyelashes and I am worried that the incisions will affect my eyelashes. Could this happen? How long after the surgery can I wear eye makeup, particulalrly mascara?
It is virtually impossible for your eyelashes to be injured from blepharoplasty as long as you go to a surgeon who is well trained and experienced. You typically can wear mascara after 2 weeks.
