Chemical Peel
A chemical peel removes the uppermost layer of skin cells. At our Media, Pennsylvania office near Delaware, we can treat wrinkles, facial blemishes, acne scars, and pigmentation discolorations with a chemical peel. Depending on the type of results patients desire, we may use a light chemical peel, a medium chemical peel, or a deep chemical peel to eliminate flaws in the facial skin.
A chemical peel removes the top layer of skin cells. After a chemical peel, new cell growth begins from the lowest levels of the dermis to regenerate the top facial skin layers. A chemical peel "jump starts" the rejuvenation process to restore the elastin and collagen lost in the aging process. As the skin cells begin to rebuild, the new skin is smoother and more evenly toned. A wide variety of facial blemishes can be treated with chemical peels. Plasma Skin Regeneration

During the procedure, a topical gel and local anesthesia numb the face before the procedure is done. Over the next several days, the top layer of skin peels away, revealing smooth skin cells below. The effects of PSR last a year or more, with skin cells consistently producing significantly higher levels of elastin and collagen. PSR has been compared to laser skin resurfacing; however, PSR does not require the same extensive recovery time. Shown to eliminate wrinkles, discolorations, and scars, PSR is the latest in skin rejuvenation techniques.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin resurfacing removes the top layer of skin, encourages skin cell growth, and improves the health and beauty of facial skin using techniques and methodology similar to a chemical peel. At our Philadelphia-area office near Delaware, we use a CO2 laser to remove the top layer of dead skin cells.
