CAN YOU HELP EXPLAIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGULAR FACELIFT AND A LOWER FACELIFT?
Question:
Can you help explain the difference between a regular facelift and a lower facelift? I feel as if the skin around the lower part of my face and neck seem to be losing a lot of elasticity. How can I tell which procedure is right for me?
Answer:
The terminology with facelifting is very confusing because many people use different terms to describe the same procedure and because most surgeons do their own version of a facelift in Philadelphia. There are many variations and I like to tailor the operation to exactly what the patient needs. I do 2 basic types of facelifts- a mini-facelift and a standard facelift. The mini-facelift is great in a patient who doesn’t have alot of aging in the neck and the standard facelift is great when neck laxity/ fatty tissue in the neck is a big issue. I would have to see you or at least photos of you to tell you which procedure would be best for you.
