Short review: Dr Pontell is an exceptional surgeon with an emphasis on the artistry as much as the medicine. Marie, Cathy, and the entire staff run the tightest of ships. Theres no question or problem they can't handle immediately. They take the worry, stress and guesswork out of the entire process. Longer story: Due to a car accident about 10 years ago where my nose was crushed, then just basically pushed back together during reconstructive surgery, I've been having progressively worsening issues with sleeping and headaches. I was told by my wife that her friend from work had similar issues due to her broken nose and she went to a plastic surgeon to repair the damage and had great results, so I asked her to find out that doctor's name. Not realizing my headaches and sleep problems could have been caused by something from a decade ago, I decided to look into getting my nose fixed. I researched many doctors, read hundreds of reviews, and decided to book a consultation with Dr Pontell. People say you should get several opinions, and perhaps that's true, but the level of comfort I felt with the staff right away had me leaning towards them. Then after the consult with Dr Pontell I knew for sure this was the team for me. Then, I come to find out my wife's friend from work also went to Dr Pontell, what are the odds.... The entire staff are incredibly friendly, caring, patient, understanding and attentive. They never once made me feel rushed or unimportant. Any time I had a question or concern they'd respond quickly by email, or took their time with me over the phone. The day of the procedure I was a nervous wreck heading in, but the hospital staff helped me through it and kept me calm and comfortable. Dr Pontell spoke with me before he got started, which also helped me feel less nervous. Next thing I know, I'm awake. And from that point on, it was about as uneventful as one could hope. In fact, the very night of the procedure I could already feel an improvement in my breathing. Which was the most amazing part, especially after 10 years. Dr Pontell called to check in on me and couldn't have been more caring Over the next couple weeks there was some swelling and bruising which is to be expected, but it didn't last very long. And I had absolutely no pain. The follow up visits are already planned before you're procedure so you have nothing to do but relax and heal. Dr Pontell and the staff really make this an easy experience. Getting the bandages off a week after surgery, that quickly you can see a big improvement. But I'm now 7 weeks post-op and it keeps getting better. The quality of my sleep has greatly improved, and I have not had a single headache in almost 2 months. Not to mention my nose is straighter, smaller, and I feel as though I look like a better version of myself. The changes are subtle, but HUGE. This was 100% worth it. I'm so happy I went through with it, and ecstatic that I found Dr Pontell and his team.

I have been going to see Dr. Pontell since 2016 for fillers, and for 6 years straight he has made me nothing less than happy and confident. He has never, ever overdone my filler. I have it placed all over - cheekbones, nose bridge, chin, lips. Growing up, I always knew that my nose wasn't nice. I had that typical Asian nose with a low bridge, wide alars, and unprojected tip. However, i wasn't really bothered by it until I got older. I noticed that my nose was becoming really bulbous and looked a hot mess. I hated having my pictures taken and began to feel really self conscious in my everyday life. It helped that we were wearing masks everywhere, but when the pandemic started to subside and the masks came off, I said oh no this nose has got to go. I started researching for a plastic surgeon and came across Dr. Pontell. I liked the fact that he had 20+ yrs experience and only does facial plastic surgeries with rhinoplasty as his specialty. His clients' before and after photos were impressive and so I immediately called to schedule a consultation. I met with Dr. Pontell for the first time and knew that very day that he was the right surgeon for me. His quiet, calm, and warm demeanor immediately put me at ease. He asked me what I was looking to achieve and then made his own suggestions. I never felt rushed and can tell he really cared about what I wanted. I made the decision to go ahead with the surgery and that changed my life. From the moment I walked into Dr. Pontell's office and meeting the beautiful ladies working with Dr. Pontell (Marie and Kathy) to having the surgery was flawless. I had my surgery on Sept. 23, 2022 at the beautiful Limerick Surgery Center. Dr. Pontell couldn't have picked a better surgery center because this place is gorgeous. The staff there are wonderful. They were all very friendly and any nervousness I felt dissipated. Now at 6 wks later, I have to say I couldn't have had a better experience. On top of that, Dr. Pontell exceeded my expectations. He gave me a nose I absolutely love. It looks natural and suits my face perfectly. My nose was narrowed and projected, and that bridge he gave me is everything. I'm Asian and didn't want a super high bridge because that would look too fake. He nailed it by making it just right. The tip is still swollen but is nowhere near to how it looked before the surgery and will only get better. In the end, I have to say that Dr. Pontell is my hero and I owe him my utmost gratitude. Better & More Permanent Than Fillers!
BETTER & MORE PERMANENT THAN FILLERS! I absolutely love my liplift surgery results! Symmetrical and fuller lips. The healing process was great- did not hurt. 10 days after the procedure -after my outer stitches were removed - the incision was a little pink, but hardly noticeable. I made sure to apply my antibiotic creme and to be extra cautious, I wore a mask when I went out for the 1st 10 days. Dr. Pontell did a great job at explaining the process and his staff was professional. I told my cousins I took the more “organic” route- instead of lip fillers. A year and a half after I had my smart graft procedure done, I was invited to my 30th high school graduation party. All I can say is that I went with no hat and much more confidence and self-esteem. Dr. Pontell is AMAZING!!!! I had a mini face lift and upper and lower eyes. I was really scared! I wanted to save money, and therefore, was awake during the surgery. The numbing shots hurt, but it was bearable. Dr. Pontell has a beautiful voice and sang the whole time. I can't believe how great I look!!! Way beyond my expectations! He is the BEST! Dr. Pontell changed my life. I had my revision rhinoplasty May 27, 2019, after an original surgery 20 years ago plus injury to the skin of the nose about 10 years ago. I look in the mirror now and actually like what I see. It’s amazing. He narrowed the nostrils, made the tip smaller, and even gave me a cute little hint of an upturned tip because that’s what I said I wanted. I seriously can’t stop looking in the mirror and being shocked that it looks so pretty. Knowing that revision is more complicated than primary, plus knowing I had a lot of scar tissue on the skin of my nose from the old injury, I did years of research, reading reviews, and having consultations with experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeons. I knew this would be a difficult surgery and it was really important to me to choose the best doctor possible so I didn’t waste my time and money in disappointment, or even worse, damage the nose further. I did consultations with Dr. Jonathan Becker, Dr. Randolph Capone (RIP), Dr. Thomas Le, Dr. Kofi Boahene at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Shervin Naderi & Dr. Jason Hamilton in Los Angeles. Dr. Pontell was by far the best doctor I could ever have chosen and I am so grateful I spent those years researching and consulting because it was all worth it to find such a talented, kind, caring, and miracle working doctor. He listened to what I wanted, worked with me on the goals, allowed me to make 11th hour changes (leaving the deviated septum and bridge alone bc even though it technically impacted my breathing, I didn’t notice a breathing problem and the bridge was the only part of my nose I actually liked, so we left that alone). At the surgery center the nurse told me that Dr. Pontell is known for taking his time to get things just right, so the friend I came with shouldn’t worry if the 2 hour surgery went over to 2.5 hours or so, it would just be Dr. Pontell making sure everything was perfect. When I told the nurse I’d come from 3 states away, she told me Dr. Pontell has patients come from all over the US and 2 recent ones who flew in from France and somewhere else internationally just for rhinoplasty with him. I said I totally get it, because he’s worth it. That was before the surgery. When I woke up, even with the badges on and swelling, I could see immediately I loved it. The nostrils were so much slimmer and the tip smaller and cute. Now 7 weeks later it’s just gotten better and better. Dr. Pontell called me at the hotel the evening of the surgery just to make sure I was doing ok, and when I missed that call bc I was sleeping, he called the cell of the friend who’d come with me, to make sure all was well. He gave me his personal cell and I could call night or day with any questions or concerns. When I had the stitches out I barely felt it, and there are literally no scars or even red marks whatsoever, even though there were about 15 external stitches in the nostrils and columella. In short, this was the best decision I ever made, and I thank God, in all seriousness, for bringing me to Dr. Pontell. He is an amazing surgeon (my complicated revision went off without a hitch & is more beautiful than I ever thought possible) but just as important - or even more important in my book - he is truly kind and really cares about his patients. A thousand stars - Highly recommend. I love my new nose and am so much more confident now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Pontell! PS Kathy & Kat at the front desk are amazing. Best Decision Ever - Mini Facelift by Dr. Pontell
I first went to see Dr. Pontell in my early 50’s as I saw my jawline starting to get “jowly” and realized surgery was my only option. He did a mini lift on me in his office; it could not have gone smoother and the results were awesome. No pain, no complications, quick recovery. I followed up in my late 50’s with a second mini lift which is still holding up very well- although 61 now, strangers believe I’m in my 40’s, so that’s all the positive feedback I need to know I made the right choice and with the right surgeon! I look like myself again! I am in my 50s and things just started sagging. I looked tired all of the time. I have been to a few local well-known doctors in the Philadelphia area for both fillers and advice on my neck area. I did get fillers from one office and was not happy with the end result, due to the fact that it was a nurse injector who performed the procedure and not the doctor himself. Advice that was given to me seemed more clinical than personal. I found Dr Pontell from a local news segment on Ulthera. I am so glad I watched the news that night! I made an appointment with Dr. Pontell, had the fillers done by him, and was given the best advice about my neck on a very personal level. The injection work is absolutely gorgeous. The work is pretty much flawless and that is coming from my worst critic – my husband. I have definite plans on seeing Dr. Pontell again. I had been considering getting a mini lift for years.. While looking online for a Dr. I saw Dr Pontell’s website.. It was very informative and I loved that Dr Pontell specialized in facial surgery. From the moment I met him I was confident that he would do a great job. Also I knew that he had done this procedure probably over 1000 times.. THe procedure was painless after the numbing took affect and was over very quickly. I was able to leave the house on the third day and no one even noticed. The incisions are not visable because they are behind my ears. Dr. Pontell did a beautiful job and is a very skilled surgeon.. Exceeded My Expectations
Happy New Year! I hope that you make many people as happy as you have made me. I wanted you to know that my facelift far exceeded my expectations. I have had many compliments, but most important is the way that I feel. You have taken many years off of my appearance, especially my neck and chin. It looks better than it did when I was in my twenties. Talking to others who have gone through similar surgeries, I feel the care that I received far surpassed what they experienced. I know we all have a different tolerance for pain, however, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest, I feel my pain was 1 or less. It was hard for me to believe. I could have easily returned to work in two weeks. Once again, I wanted to thank you. I feel very blessed and fortunate to have Dr. Pontell for my doctor. It was very comforting to be able to call Kay at any time with any problem or questions, and you giving me your home phone number the day after my surgery. Dear Dr. Pontell, I am writing this letter to you to express my sincere appreciation for the truly caring and professional medical treatment I received from you over the past five months at Tripler Army Medical Center. I was born with a birthmark on my nose during my youth and it was not too noticeable. Over the years, however, due to a viral infection, the mark grew quite considerably in size and became very uncomfortable and disfiguring. I saw several doctors to no avail; as they viewed the procedure a high risk one. Many not wanting to proceed, due to the growths close proximity to my eyes. While under your care I never had any doubts, misgivings, or anxieties about the treatment and reconstructive surgeryI was to receive. Your patient and detailed explanations, and your truly caring and honest demeanor, never once made me feel doubtful or apprehensive. You treated me as if I was the only patient you had and never made me feel rushed or hurried. This is rare in today’s hectic paced society. When I look in the mirror now, I can hardly believe the transformation of my nose and overall appearance. It is truly amazing and I know that it is a result of your trained hands as a facial plastic surgeon. Under your care, I have come to fully understand the meaning of a dedicated and caring physician. The polite, informative and understanding manner in which you consistently treated me with will never be forgotten. Your leaving the Army Medical Corps for civilian life will be a tremendous loss to the members of the Armed Forces who will be deprived of your fine medical skills and professionalism.
