Wrinkle-Free Rejuvenation: Discover BOTOX® Treatment

The effects of age, gravity, our individual genetics, and the environment can cause creases and fine lines to form on our skin. Formulated with botulinum toxin – a neuromodulator that temporarily immobilizes dynamic wrinkle-causing muscles – BOTOX® smooths the skin for a rejuvenated facial glow.

How BOTOX® Works

BOTOX® works by temporarily relaxing the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. Made from a safe, low dose of botulinum toxin, a purified protein, BOTOX® acts as a preventative treatment for younger patients and as an effective anti-aging treatment for patients who are already seeing wrinkles and fine lines.

What to Expect During BOTOX® Treatment

During your BOTOX® treatment, your skin will first be cleansed. Injections will be precisely given in specific areas, ensuring only the muscles causing the wrinkles are treated. This process takes about 10 minutes. Once it is complete, you can get right back to your day.

Lines on the eyebrows can cause a grouchy or tired appearance. With BOTOX®, the wrinkles diminish, leaving a more appealing, attractive appearance.

Achieve a smoother, more sculpted chin with BOTOX®. BOTOX® diminishes chin wrinkles and irregularities to help you appear younger and more refreshed.

Mouth Corners

Drooping corners can make your mouth look like you’re permanently unhappy. With BOTOX®, the corner of your mouth is lifted, creating a more youthful, pleasant appearance.

Bunny Lines

The fine lines on either side of your nose, commonly called bunny lines, can be smoothed and erased with BOTOX®.

Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet and fine lines around the eyes can be carefully injected with BOTOX®, reducing signs of age.

Frown Lines

Also known as the “11s”, the vertical lines between the eyebrows can be softened and smoothed away to achieve a more pleasant, youthful appearance.

Forehead Lines

The horizontal lines on the brow are diminished or erased with BOTOX® injections, covering the entirety of the forehead.

Neck Bands

BOTOX® injections effectively decrease wrinkles and lines on the neck (platysmal bands), leaving you more youthful and refreshed.

BOTOX® vs. Xeomin

BOTOX® and Xeomin are similar injectable treatments that both achieve smoother skin. The main difference is that Xeomin is the purest form of botulinum toxin, the same substance as BOTOX®.

Because it is so pure, Xeomin provides the lowest possible chance of causing an allergic reaction. It also has a lower probability of patients developing resistance to the product over time, which makes it a practical choice when patients have started to build resistance to BOTOX®.

BOTOX® vs. Fillers

Aesthetically, BOTOX® is designed solely to smooth lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause the wrinkles to appear. Dermal fillers can also help to smooth wrinkles and lines, but they work differently. Fillers replace lost facial volume with a gel-like substance.

This plumps the skin, filling and smoothing the wrinkles. Fillers can also enhance and sculpt the features, such as the cheekbones, jawline, and lips. Fillers last several months longer than BOTOX®; they can even last up to two years or more.

Medical Uses of BOTOX®

BOTOX® can be used to treat a variety of medical concerns, including excessive sweating, TMJ, and migraines.

If you’re suffering from excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), causing embarrassing wetness you can’t easily control, BOTOX® injections can effectively treat this problem by temporarily blocking the nerves that signal the sweat glands to overproduce sweat. Patients have dryer underarms and more confidence.

Clenching and grinding the teeth, or TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder), is commonly treated with BOTOX®. BOTOX® injections effectively relax the muscles causing tightness and straining in the jaw. This treatment is an effective relief for many TMJ patients.

The debilitating effect migraines cause can be successfully treated with BOTOX®. During migraine treatment, BOTOX® is injected into specific areas. This relaxes the muscles and relieves the onset of migraines and the suffering they cause.

Post-Injection Care

Expect a very minimal recovery period after a BOTOX® treatment. There is no downtime required. There may be redness or small red bumps in the treatment area, which will usually fade within about one hour.

For the following two days after treatment, do not massage the area, as that may cause the BOTOX® substance to spread to other facial regions.
